BAA INDUCTS SET 2023 INTO ITS FOLD

The Bristow Alumni Association (BAA) today, during the Graduation, Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony of Bristow Secondary School, Gboko, inducted Bristow Set 2023 (The Titans) into its fold. Receiving the new entrants into the association, the BAA National President, Dr. Msugh Gbila, charged the graduands to always strive to achieve greater heights and be good ambassadors of Bristow as their graduation rather signifies an entrance into a new phase of life. A total of One Hundred and Sixty (160) inductees were inducted into the association.

Addressing the graduands, the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Terver Zua Tule charged them on the virtue of gratitude, saying it opens more doors of success and further took the graduands on a gratitude tour to their Bristow tutors, parents and other guests at the occasion. He recounted numerous benefits he has had to enjoy in life by simply being a BAA member and further charged parents to strive even harder to ensure their children proceed to higher institutions of learning to produce great men and women later in life.

In their seperate speeches, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Azubuike Chukwuma and the Chairlady, Mrs. Hannah Gundu all congratulated the graduands and charged them to work hard to proceed with academics and avoid bad company which could lead them astray. Also speaking, the PTA Chairman, Dr. Dzerkaan Faanafa emphasized the need for the proprietor of the school, the alumni association and all relevant stakeholders in the education sector to always work in unison to move the school forward.

High points of the occasion include;

  1. Election of the Executive Council of BAA Set 2023 (The Titans) and their swearing in by the BAA Legal Adviser, Barr. Ruth Yega Aorga. The election saw Mr. Iorfa Samuel elected as the Set Coordinator.
  2. Launching of a book titled “Heart: The Best Church” written by one of the graduands, Gbande Ka-Aondo Saviour.
  3. Launching of the Bristow Magazine, “The Light”
  4. Presentation of awards/prizes under different categories in which Miss Iorwuese Msendoo Zipporah emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student in academics, thereby carting away with almost all the prizes.
  5. A minute silent was observed in honour of Bristow’s pioneer Principal, Late Dr. Harold Bergsma who passed on in San Diego, California on 7th August, 2023 at the age of 91.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Principal, Bristow Secondary School, Gboko, Mr. Jen Adzor Jen congratulated the graduands and charged them to diligently pursue their dreams for greatness. He appreciated the parents for their unrelenting support and partnership with the school in moulding the students despite the prevailing economic challenges. He further appreciated the Bristow Alumni Association (BAA) and the proprietor of the school, the NKST Church for their support and partnership which has sustained the standard of the school over the years.
